Among the reiteration of “every race has privileges” he threw out this gem “….I believe that anyone can be a trans representative. You do not even need to fall under the transgender umbrella to be a trans representative.”
I’m going to fucking kill some people, I swear to god. This is why I retired from going to most workshop/gathering places of trans* folks. Because of shit like this that people feel entitled to spew.
Once more, for the cheap seats, fuck ryan cassata and his racist privilege denying ass.
Seriously, if every white trans person who follows me does not go here right now and tell them to remove Ryan Cassata as a representative, I am considering you a racist. Fucking just go and do it.
For the record, one of the reasons it is a problem ryan cassata is keynote at the PTHC is because it has historically been a space that devotes a lot of energy to representing and reaching out to Q/TPOC. It is by no means exclusively a Q/TPOC space, hardly any free conference can afford what it takes to cater to a single body of individuals. But having this racist shitfuck stand up in front of Q/TPOC is a major, major shit move.
